Located in the heart of Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Bay, Wing Hing Seafood Restaurant offers an authentic Cantonese dining experience that continues to captivate locals and visitors alike. Specializing in traditional Chinese cuisine, this beloved establishment is a go-to destination for those craving fresh, flavorful seafood and classic dim sum dishes.
Step inside, and you’ll immediately notice the warm, no-frills ambiance that puts the focus squarely on the food. Wing Hing Seafood Restaurant prides itself on serving dishes made to order, ensuring every bite bursts with freshness and vibrant flavor. Whether you're settling in for a leisurely dim sum brunch or a hearty family dinner, the inviting atmosphere fosters a genuine sense of comfort and satisfaction.
The menu is a treasure trove of Cantonese delights, with standout offerings like crispy boneless duck that boasts golden, crackling skin and tender, juicy meat. The dim sum selection, now ordered via paper menus rather than traditional carts, features timeless favorites such as rice noodle rolls, chicken feet, and fragrant pea shoots. Sea lovers can indulge in jumbo fried shrimp, razor clams, or steam oysters, all praised for their freshness and expertly prepared texture.
Particularly memorable are dishes like the walnut shrimp, which delivers a perfect balance of sweet and nutty flavors, and the purple eggplant cooked to sizzling perfection—piping hot and flavorful from the first bite to the last. Fried rice chicken, sweet-and-sour chicken, and General TSO's chicken each showcase the kitchen’s skill in balancing seasoning and tenderness, satisfying those who appreciate a well-rounded palate.
Wing Hing also caters to comfort food enthusiasts with options like deep-fried garlic spare ribs and lemongrass pork chops, alongside seasonal casserole dishes such as tofu with grouper, adding layers of warmth and richness to the menu. For lighter fare, the various congee selections serve as a soothing, savory treat, perfect for any time of day.
What truly sets Wing Hing Seafood Restaurant apart is its commitment to quality and authenticity at an affordable price point. As one satisfied patron noted, a flavorful lunch for two can be enjoyed for around $20—an exceptional value in New York’s dining scene. The friendly, familiar service only adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making each visit feel like a special occasion with family.
Whether you’re after the crispy roast duck, savory dim sum, or freshly cooked lobster, Wing Hing delivers with consistency and heart. It’s a place where every plate tells a story of tradition, freshness, and culinary passion—an indispensable stop for anyone eager to explore the rich tapestry of Chinese cuisine in Brooklyn.
This Chinese food restaurant never seems to ever disappoint. The food is super fresh and cooked to order. The roast Duck is delicious and the skin is always crispy. If you were looking for traditional Cantonese dishes, this is a great place to try out. The seafood is very fresh and you can get lobster cooked to order. I would recommend you try all different types of things and they have live lobster as well.
This spot has been a family staple since I can remember. We spent many weekends coming for dim sum and many weeknights coming for dinner. Both dinner dishes and dim sum offerings are solid. Unfortunately, they no longer have dim sum carts up until recently. It has now moved to a paper ordering style, where you mark the amount of dishes you want. Other than that, this is a very standard Chinese restaurant with a loyal, neighborhood customer base. Everything is decent and affordably priced.
Have you ever tried an authentic food? You should try. New York is an amazing place where diversity of culture is shared. If you want to try Chinese cuisine you can start from Ave U in Brooklyn. Freshly made, delicious and very affordable. Wing Hing Seafood Restaurant is one of my favourite ones. 20$ bill for two in lunch time. Isn’t that amazing? And overall you will never regret the food. Hot, fresh appetisers such as SiuMai, shrimp rice rolls, dumplings and on and on….Especially in lunch time you can try all kinds of them. You are getting a special list just for all those delicious things. And if you’re still not full order any main dish on rice. For example, Roast pig over rice. Tiny, crispy fried skin on top of juicy and tender meat. Or try pork chops Pekin style. Flavorful sweet and sour red sauce made this dish always a winner. There is a choice of beef, pork, chicken. And I f you are a vegetarian you will be happy with the variety of different dishes for you too. All food extremely fresh and tasty. And on the top you always get a free pot of green tea.
Aunt's favorite, friendly staff, good is not bad, depends how you order. Good for a local Chinese restaurant.
No frills. Just good food made to order. We absolutely loved the preparation of the purple eggplant. It came out piping hot and remained that way for the entire meal. The walnut shrimp plate was a delight as well, I was super happy that even the broccoli was well seasoned. The salt level was great and freshness of the shrimp. The quality of the meat in the sweet-and-sour chicken was exactly what we were hoping for. Usually restaurants slack off in this department because it’s fried and covered in sauce but this plate did not disappoint. In addition to these three main course options we had an order of white rice on the side and enjoyed the lovely tea. Usually we go to Chinatown for this style of cuisine but appears we have this gem among us here in Brooklyn. As we were eating we noticed a lot of people had some beautiful and extravagant dishes being dropped off to their table. Can’t wait to go back and try more ( like one of the meat platters or the lobster fried rice). This place is definitely recommended for family style dining because all of the portions are so huge and definitely worth sharing. This place would also be great for a celebration, they have bigger tables and once all the food is on the table it all looks so beautiful and special. Not sure if they have drinks because we ended up drinking the tea that was served on arrival the whole time. Also we requested hot sauce and hot chili oil which is a must on the side.
I like this place. Pretty down to earth and decent dimsum or dinner spot for traditional Chinese food. We have a small dinner here and service is great. They pay more attention to big spenders ei if you order fish or lobster which is understandable. Working class like me only desire so much right? Anyway the food is delicious and well made. If you want to show off, I would pick something else. If you just want a good meal and no wait, this is the spot. Crispy pork is a must have. Crispy noodle is done to perfection. Eat well and enjoy this place. One day I would love to come back for one of those made that requires a day prebooking.
Haven't been here in a few years. But this neighborhood place does not disappoint! It had a great crowd and the takeout was so busy we had to wait longer to get our food. We ordered the curry seafood special. It goes great with rice though they give you noodles. Also, the General Tso's chicken was one of the best I ever had.
